Guidance for The Movement in the Real Estate Market

Overview of the Federal Reserve System

In yesterday’s blog I stressed the importance of being up to date on policy changes of the Federal Reserve.

So today I would like to provide all my followers with a link on where you can find the Feds calendar, statements, and the Meeting Minutes. Below is that link.

Federal Reserve Policy Changes

Below are the duties of the Federal Reserve as they are described on their web-site:

The Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the United States. It was founded by congress in 1913 to provide the nation with safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system. Over the years, its role in banking and the economy has expanded.

Today, the Federal Reserve’s duties fall into four general areas:

1. Conducting the nation’s monetary policy by influencing the monetary and credit conditions. In pursuit of the maximum unemployment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates

2. Supervising and regulating banking institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of the nation’s banking and financial system and to protect the credit rights of consumers.

3. Maintain the stability of the financial system and containing systematic risk that may arise in financial markets.

4. Providing financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions, including playing a major role in operating the nation’s payment system

Now next time there are conversations regarding the Feds meetings you know where you can find the information to be able to investigate and examine and changes. Concurrently it would also be a good idea to visit a chat room to examine other people’s opinions on the changes and how it affects the housing industry and/ or the real estate field.
